Editor's Notebook

Insert your favorite quip here, whether Murphy's Law, the best laid plans of mice and men, life is what happens while you're making other plans, etc.

The reins of power at the Record publishing empire did a little head scratching as to when to put the paper out in order to work around Christmas coming in the middle of the week. The resulting plan was that our readers were only supposed to get the Record a day late last week, but (insert your favorite expression here, as referenced above). Unforeseen logistical problems came along that delayed the arrival of the Record at New Meadows and the New Meadows Post Office until Monday morning.

Our usual system gets the paper to New Meadows via someone who goes to work up that way very early Thursday morning, last week it was supposed to be Friday. But our faithful courier had that day off, so the papers that were dropped off in his vehicle Friday morning went nowhere until an "uh oh!" moment of realization sometime later.

We apologize for the Record not getting to our Meadows Valley readers on time, and we will do our best to avoid a repeat.

By the way, because January 1 came on a Wednesday, this issue will have been one day later than usual.
