Curtis C. Baugus, 72

Curtis Charles Baugus of Hawarden passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at his residence.

Funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 28 at the United Methodist Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Barb Joy officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden was in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes. com.

Curtis was born Oct. 21, 1937, in Hawarden, the son of Albert and Mattie (Nelson) Baugus. He attended school in Hawarden. Curt married Ardis Morehead on Oct. 9,1964. He worked construction and was a school bus driver for several years until he became disabled in 1980.

Curt loved to travel and enjoyed traveling with his wife and daughter to see his brother and nephews and nieces from Utah. He also loved visiting his cousins in South Dakota. His daughter and granddaughter were his pride and joy, whom he loved with his whole heart.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hawarden. Curt is survived by his wife, Ardis of Hawarden; daughter, Debbie Moffatt and husband, Stacy and granddaughter Hailey Moffatt of Akron; three step-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Roger Morehead of Rock Valley, IA; sister-in-law, Audrey Johnson and husband, Vernon of Alcester, SD; as well as many nephews, a niece, and cousins.

Curt was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Albert Baugus, Jr. and Leonard Eddings.
