Funeral services for Mr. Samuel Harris, 70, of Spearsville was held at 10:00AM Monday, December 23, 2013 at Mt. Sterling Baptist

Church with Bro. Buddy Boatright officiating. Burial was in Harmony Chapel Cemetery in Hico under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mr. Harris passed away December 20, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong resident of Union Parish and proudly served his country with two tours of duty in the Vietnam War as a Naval Gunner Mate. Mr. Harris was a retired truck driver for Woodfield Trucking Co. and a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sim F. and Jimmie Haynes Harris.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Donna Harris; sons, Samuel "Bubba" Harris, Jr.; James Matthew "Matt" Harris; and Andrew "Andy" Pilgreen; daughter, Sherri Lynn Harris, all of Spearsville; brothers, Martin Harris and wife, Bonita, of Lillie; Alton Harris of Ruston; sisters, including special sister, Wanda Mitcham of Spearsville; Olive Barton; and Judy Harris, both of Ruston; grandchildren, Jordan Scott May of West Monroe; and Taylor Danielle Harris Perkins of Rocky Branch; and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers were Jeff Mitcham, David Mitcham, Steven Mitcham, Dustin Ates, Daniel Ates, and Clay Harris.

Visitation was Sunday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the church.
