Parade of Lights winners: Best Theme - Farmers Union Oil; Brightest - Montana Dakota Utilities; Unique - Great Plains Bank; Honorable Mention - Starion.

Decorating contest: Business - Dakota Dental; Home: Traditional - Paul and Kathy Mahler; Most Unique - Dave and Rose Bennett; Brightest - Bob and Barb Hardy.

The Ellendale Chamber of Commerce extends their thanks to their judges this year - Val Wagner, Gary Dathe and Jami Barton.

Ellendale saw a joyous Holiday Season in 2013 with a grand parade of lights starting all the December activities. A large crowd gathered to wake up Santa after the parade and then gathered at the Opera House Lobby to listen to a choral group from Trinity Bible College sing Christmas Carols while enjoying home made soup and other goodies.

The Festival of Trees at the Dickey County Courthouse also produced many beautiful trees and other green items; all decorated so pretty.

Unfortunately the Tour of Homes did not happen this year but it is hoped that will be back on the calendar next Holiday Season. So think about having your home open for the tour next year.

Frosty clues had people stumped wondering who he/she was and finally at the Elementary Concert at the Ellendale School, Phyllis Zvorak was unveiled as Frosty. Many businesses held open houses with wonderful goodies and lots of bargains. Hope everyone enjoyed the Holidays in Ellendale.
