Linden council meets youth advisory board

Linden City Council introduced the Linden Youth Advisory Board at the meeting Tuesday night, Jan. 19.

Member of the LYAB are Chelsa Tucker, Velma Harris, Briania Agee, Milton Anthony, Colton Baugh (charter member), Shelby Mathis (charter member), Taylor Barley, Briauna Alston, Caitlin Moore, Jessica Brock, Jacob Dunn, Parrish Pugh, Wilvonta Horton, Gerald Bruno, James Harris, and Chris Sammons.

The LYAB was established in 2007 and members are in the 9th - 12th grades and must attend either Linden High School or Marengo Academy.

Linden Police Chief Scott McClure brought before the council a option to sale a used 1999 Crown Vic to the City of Faunsdale for $2000 dollar.

Councilman Mike Carlisle made the motion to sell it and Councilman Dennis Breckenridge seconded it, and the council passed it.

Joyce Yeager's term was up on the City Health Care Authority Nursing Home Board. The council approved for her return to the board for another six year term. Jan Cannon made the motion and Neal Jackson seconded it.

No action was taken in the areas of

General Government and Finance, Public Safety, Parks, Recreation and Civic Improvements, Streets and Sanitation, or any new business.

The Linden Chilly Fest made the top ten events in the Sweet Home Alabama magazine that in put out by the state of Alabama, The event came in at number nine and is listed on page 82 and 86 in the magazine.

The next meeting will on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 6 p.m.
