Funeral services for Emilie Veronica Motl, 84, of East Bernard, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis with Rev. Thuy Quang Nguyen celebrating the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal.

Burial was in Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Wallis.

Pallbearers were Donald Bartos, Louis Bartos, John Allen Drabek, Calvin Hillmann, Larry Pilcik and Bobby Ru-ether. Honorary pallbearers were: Mandi Motl Brasher, Lacy Motl, Haley Gerke, Kyle Gerke and Alexa Brasher.

Emilie died on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013. Emilie was born in Orchard to parents Henry and Annie Szymanski Drabek on Feb, 28, 1929.

She was reared in the Krasna Community and attended Orchard Public School. Emilie married Ervin Motl on Nov. 18, 1951 in Wallis. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She enjoyed cooking, making wine, listening to polka music and spending time with her granddaughters and great-granddaughter, Alexa. Emilie worked in the kitchen as a cook at Klecka's for more than 30 years, where she was notorious for her homemade dressing and always sneaking chicken nuggets to the children when they came by the kitchen.

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and KJZT in East Bernard.

Survivors include son, Pat Motl and wife, Lori, of East Bernard; grandchildren, Mandi Motl Brasher of Round Rock, Lacy Motl of Hungerford and Haley Gerke and husband, Kyle, of Beasley; sisters, Frances Ruether and husband, Johnnie of Corpus Christi, Virgie Lacombe and husband Leroy. of Tomball; and sister-in-law, Rita Drabek of Sugar Land.

She is preceded In death by her parents, Henry and Anme Drabek; husband, Ervin Motl; son, Michael Motl; brother, Johnny Drabek; and sister, Ella Bartos.

Funeral services were under the direction of Knesek and Sons Funeral Home in Wallis.
