County to get federal disaster relief funding

Wharton County has been added to President Barack Obama's and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)'s DR-4269 federal disaster relief funding for the flooding damage the area received. The Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) is for damages to businesses and homes resulting from severe storms and flooding from April 17-24.

Federal assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
