Exeter woman, F'ville boy injured in single car crash south of Strathmore

A Visalia man was killed last week after taking a curve too fast near Farmersville.

The accident happened at 1:45 p.m. on Dec. 22 when a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Avenue 296, the frontage road along Highway 198, at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of the motorcycle where the road curves at Road 162 near the Farmersville Boulevard exit, according to the California Highway Patrol. The driver locked the brakes and the motorcycle went off the roadway and struck two roadway directional signs before coming to rest on the dirt shoulder.

The driver, who was only identified as a 31-year-old Visalia man, was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival. The collision remains under investigation by the CHP.
