Two injured in rollover wreck near Strathmore

Two people were injured when their car overturned on Highway 65 near Strathmore.

The accident happened at about 6:40 p.m. on Dec. 26 when a 1998 Honda Passport was traveling northbound on Highway 65. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver lost control of the car for unknown reasons and it went off the roadway where it overturned and collided with a wire fence just north of the Friant-Kern Canal.

The driver, 31 -year-old Eliuth Galeana of Farmersville, did not sustain any injuries but both of her passengers complained of pain. Martha Caranza, 54, of Exeter was transported to Sierra View District Hospital complaining of minor pain. Andrew Breceda, 9, of Farmersville, was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene. At this time, CHP said the cause of wreck is still under investigation but alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
