Marylou "Granna" Johnson

Marylou "Granna" Johnson, of Susanville, Calif. passed away Dec. 26, 2011 after a short illness, with her family at her side.

She was born March 7, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio. Granna moved to Quincy, Calif., in 1962. In 1964, as a single parent, she went to work at Plumas District Hospital, in the kitchen, then as a CNA. She studied and challenged the LVN test. Marylou also challenged the X-ray board; she then became an X-ray technician. She worked 29 years for Plumas District Hospital.

Marylou is preceded in death by her sons, Bertal Thomas Johnson II and Eugene Edward Johnson; grandson Jason Robert Johnson; and granddaughter Jordyn Montana Johnson.

She was a fantastic seamstress. She enjoyed cooking and the Food Network. She enjoyed watching the grandchildren and the great-grandchildren play. She is survived by her daughter Rebecca, of Susanville; grandson Justin Johnson, of Zanesville, Ohio, Jared and Marjorie, of Fullerton, Calif., Jonathan, of Tucson, Ariz.; granddaughter Jessica and Jake Fogal, of Susanville.

Service was held at 11 a.m. Dec. 29, 2011 with graveside at East Lawn Cemetery in Quincy, Calif. A Memorial Service was held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 LDS Church in Susanville.
