Visitation for Lloyd Boers, of Pleasantville, was held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Mason Funeral Home. Lloyd has been cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Lloyd August Boers was born September 9, 1959 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Lewis Maynard Boers and Lois Ann (Wunn) Boers.

Lloyd graduated from Pleasantville High School with the Class of 1977 and then took a job with Pittsburgh - Des Moines Steel. He lived in Arizona for a few years and then returned to Pleasantville and drove a truck for Paul Kockler. Lloyd eventually went to work for McAnich and retired as a foreman after 22 years. In his retirement, he continued farming and drove a truck for Wayne Collins.

Lloyd loved the outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, mushrooming, tending to the cattle, riding four-wheelers, boating or searching for arrowheads he was happy. He also enjoyed spending time with his sons; brothers, sisters and his dogs, Hank and Ginger.

Lloyd passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Mercy Hospital, in Des Moines, at the age of 54 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: LuAnne Simpson and Letha Gasparovich and his nephew, Josh Simpson.

He leaves to mourn his passing two sons: Luke Boers of Hartford and Matt Scavo of Des Moines; siblings: Larry Boers of Winlock, Washington, Lance Boers of Pleasantville and Leah Boers of Pleasantville; many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
