Dorothy Mae Seward, 86, Reynolds, died Saturday, January 15, 2010 at her residence in rural Reynolds, IN.

She was bom on the family farm in rural Reynolds on January 5, 1925 to the late Oliver Louis and Ruth Genieva (Kellenburger) Seward.

She has lived on the family farm all her life.

She was a 1943 graduate of Reynolds High School. She grew up to care for and help family and friends. Dorothy loved to read, garden, sew, and cook. She made and sold toys to gift shops and friends. Dorothy sold little dolls to Marshall Fields for several years; then made and sold Laura Ingalls dolls to be sold with the Little House on the Prairie Books, selling them to gift shops in Mansfield, MO and some went to Europe. She also dressed antique dolls. Dorothy had attended the Guernsey Church of the Brethren in rural White County.

Survivors include brother, Clarence E. "Bud" Seward, Brookston; caretaker and former sister-in-law, Argolla Seward, Brookston; niece Teresa (Joseph) Linville, Lafayette; nephews Ralph Seward, CA; George Seward, OH; and John (Jody) Seward, OH.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Ruth Seward; infant sister, Anna Louise Seward; and brother, Lois Albert "Babe" Seward.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home, Monticello.

Graveside services at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Bedford Cemetery in rural Monon.

Memorials may be given to the wishes of the donor. Miller-Roscka is handling the arrangements.
