North Dakota Junior Point Show awards banquet held

The 2009 ND Junior Point Show Awards Banquet was held Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 at the Valley City Eagles Club during the North Star Classic. The evening banquet was sponsored for the winners by the North Star Classic and the North Dakota Winter Show. The award buckles were sponsored by the ND Association of Fairs Point Show members. The second and third place prizes were sponsored by Ag Country Farm Credit Services, Valley City and Fargo. The ND Simmental Association sponsored the awards for the SimmAngus breeding heifer division. The ND Junior Point Show members would like to thank these generous sponsors.

First place winner in the Angus Breed was Caleen Crider, Donny-book, sponsored by the ND Jr. Point Show Association. Second place winner was Amy Becker, Carring-ton, sponosred by Ag Country Farm Credit Services. Third place winner was Audra Montgomery, Carrington, sponsored by Ag Country Farm Credit Services.

First place winner in the Charo-lais Breed was Whitney Holen, Upham, who was sponsored by the ND Jr. Point Show Association. Second place winner was Charlene Carlson, McLoed, Ag Country Farm Credit Services.

Winners in the Gelbvieh Breed were Thomas Friesz, New Salem, sponsored by the ND Jr. Point Show Association in first place; Andrew Arnold, Minot, sponsored by Ag Country Farm Credit Services in second place; and Annika Arnold, Minot, sponsored by Ag Country Farm Credit Services, in third place.

Hereford Breed winners and their sponsors were: First place, Thomas Friesz, New Salem, ND Jr. Point Show Association; second place, Jake Baumgarten, Belfield, Ag Country Farm Credit Services; and third place Tayler Myers, Carpio, Ag Country Farm Credit Services.

Limousin Breed division winners and their sponsors were: First place, Jaime Lundquist, Alsen, ND Jr. Point Show Association; second place, Darci Lundquist, Alson, Ag Country Farm Credit Services.

Lowline Breed winner and sponsor was Kylee Myers, Kathryn, ND Jr. Point Show Association.

ChiAngus Breed winners and their sponsors were: First place, Ty-ronne Berentson, Minot, ND Jr. Point Show Association and second place, Kayla Schaefer, Des Lacs, Ag Country Farm Credit Services.

Maine Anjou Breed winner and their sponsor was: first place, Bailey Hawbaker, Portal, ND Jr. Point Show Association.

Red Angus Breed winners and sponsors were: first place, Taylor Gahner, McClusky, ND Jr. Point Show Association; second place, Ben Lodoen, Westhope, Ag Country Farm Credit Services; and third place Rylee Lodoen, Westhope, Ag Country Farm Credit Services.

Shorthorn Breed winners and sponsors were: first place, Mattea Haux, Kindred, ND Jr. Point Show Association; second place, Aaron Haux, Kindred, Ag Country Farm Credit Services; and third place Kel-cey Holm, Ashley, Ag Country Farm Credit Services.

Simmental Breed winners and sponsors were: first place, Kayla Reis, Turtle Lake, ND Jr. Point Show Association; second place, Ian Hall, Berthold, Ag Country Farm Credit Services; and third place, Patrick Schumacher, Linton, Ag Country Farm Credit Services.

Commercial Breed winners and sponsors were: first place, Audra Montgomery, Carrington, ND Jr. Point Show Association; second place, Preston Cargo, Minot, Ag Country Farm Credit Services; and third place Jaime Lundquist, Alsen. Ag Country Farm Credit Services.

SimmAngus Breed winners and sponsors were: first place, Kayla Reis. Turtle Lake, ND Simmental Association; second place, Ian Hall. Berthold. ND Simmental Association; and third place, Carter Gahner, McClusky, ND Simmental Association.
