Albert Robb

Albert L. Robb, 89, died at his home in Northwood on December 19, 2013. Funeral service were held on Monday, December 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the North-wood United Methodist Church, with Rev. Shirley Hoffman Will officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood. Visitation was scheduled for Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, Northwood.

Al was born near Grand Meadow, Minn, and graduated from Rochester High School in 1944. He worked in the Azores Islands building airports for the U.S. Government in 1944-1945. He owned and operated a gas station in Stew-artville, Minn., before moving to Northwood, Iowa as a milk tester for the Worth County Dairy

Herd Improvement Association from 1947-1952. In 1952 he began farming, which he did until he retired in 1989. Al was a former member of the FmHA board, Odd Fellows and President of the Northwood Country Club.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lela Robb; his mother and father-in-law, Earl and Margaret (Wright) Schaub; brother, Floyd, in Korea; and sisters, Gretchen, Ruth, Alice and Helen Marie.

Al is survived by his wife, Ruth (Schaub) Robb, whom he married on November 23, 1949, at the Northwood Methodist Church, North-wood, Iowa; his five children, Julie (Peter) Faria, Penny Robb, Dan (Julie) Robb, Mary (CK) Christianson and Tracy (Jeannie) Robb; and his eight grandchildren, Michael (fiance Kari) Mogk, Bryan (Micki) Christian-son, Isaac (Kelly) Mogk, Bradley (Jennie) Christianson, Calsee (fiance Ben) Robb, Kerby (Chris) Helgeson, Tyson Robb and Jacob Robb. He had 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Al is also survived by his brother, Duane (Fran) Robb, and sister, Florence.
