Jose Patrick "Pat" Medina of Springer went to meet the Lord Dec. 31, 2009. Pat was born March 16, 1930, in Wagon Mound to Rafaela Trujillo Medina and Pedro Antonio Medina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Uncle Luis Martinez and several sisters and brothers-in-law.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Minnie and faithful companion "Sugar" of the family home; four sisters: Celeste Romero, Ninfa (Ben) Martinez, Olivia (Chuck) Lucero, Connie (Felix) Archuleta and Rose (James) Maes; and two brothers: Frank (Lillian) Medina and Pete (Delia) Medina. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Frances Bemal and brothers-in-law Isidro (Tina) Bemal and Alfonso (Connie) Bemal.

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends also survive.

Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary was held Jan. 7 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church recited by Mike Vigil. A Memorial Mass followed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father John Cannon as the celebrant. Inurnment will take place Friday, Jan. 8, at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe.

Funeral arrangements for Jose Patrick "Pat" Medina are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home of Raton.
