Retired coal miner

Alden Elrige Ferguson, 75, of Raton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was born March 25, 1934, in Grenville, the son of Eunis and Eva Mae Baum Ferguson. Alden was a retired coal miner, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the First Baptist Church in Raton.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ann Ferguson and his parents,

He is survived by his daughter Margaret Hobbs and husband Leon of Raton; sons Vince Warrick of Raton and Hugh Fleming and wife June of Hawaii; one sister, Nina Zabroski; six brothers, David, Warren, Clyde, Jean, Wade and Jack Ferguson; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Saturday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Raton with Pastor Bruce Kirby officiating. Inurnment will be in the Fairmont Cemetery in Raton.

Arrangements and celebration of love for Alden Elrige Ferguson are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
