The Cheney FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) chapter had a successful outing at the FBLA National Business Leadership conference, June 29 - July 2 in Atlanta.

At the convention, which was attended by 12,000 high school students and their advisers, Cheney's chapter brought home the most awards in the chapter's history.

Some of the chapter highlights from the competition included Abigail Blazon becoming the first freshman from Cheney to place at nationals. She, along with Hannah Blazon and Connor Gerstenkorn took seventh in the E-business category.

Hannah Blazon and Gerstenkorn became the third and fourth Cheney FBLA members to place at nationals twice.

Other Cheney students who placed at nationals include Kiersten Gaspar, who took fifth in digital video production; Megumi Call, who was fifth in Microsoft Office specializing in Excel; Matt Dupler, who was sixth in desktop application programming and Rachel Suominen, who was 10th in FBLA principles and procedures.
