Kylan Feld of Aberdeen has earned a $2,000 academic scholarship from Alliance for Affordable Services. Kylan is a 2014 graduate of Aberdeen High School and will be attending Idaho State University this fall. He is the son of Conan and Jodie Feld.

This year Alliance awarded $130,000 in scholarships to 103 students across the United States. Since 1996, the Alliance Scholarship Program has supported over 1,700 students with more than $2.5 million in scholarships.

"The rising expenses associated with a college education are a real concern for families in today's economy. Alliance scholarships can allow members to stretch their financial resources for their children's education," explained Alliance President D. Paul Pevsner.

Any eligible alliance member or dependent 16 to 28 years old may apply for this scholarship. Recipients are selected by an independent panel according to student academic performance. Recognizing that a college degree takes years to achieve, the alliance offers $1,000 scholarship renewals for up to three consecutive years as long as the student maintains at least a 3.5 grade point average.

The Alliance for Affordable Services is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping members live better and save more. For more information about the alliance and how to join, visit www.AffordableSer-voces/org or call member services at 800-733-2242.
