At their regular Monday meeting (March 16) the Council Chamber of Commerce discussed the great program put together by all volunteer performers at the Talent Show early in March. The Elementary School Multi-purpose room was a much better space for both the performers and the audience this year and most of the time it felt like you were in someone's living room listening to some great music and talent. The acts were reviewed in last week's Record, and it was impressive how much talent came out to perform The event raised over $100 for the Fourth of July Fireworks display and a box or two of food for our Loaves and Fishes Food Bank.

The Nomination Forms are out this week at The Record office and from Holly Williams for the community to nominate people who have shown outstanding service to the Council Community this past year. The winners of the voting will be honored at the Chamber Awards Banquet, which will be held on Saturday, April 25, in the Elementary School Multi-purpose Room. The Awards Dinner is the main event for the Chamber to raise operating funds for the next year. Pick up a Nomination Form this week to submit your nominations. Also, Chamber Memberships need to be in by the end of the month so the group can plan for the Awards Dinner.

The Council Chamber sponsors the World Famous Porcupine Races every July Fourth, and also actively works to promote businesses in the Council area throughout the year. This year the Chamber will be improving the Council Visitor's Center which is located along Highway 95 in the historic Council Ranger Station building.
