Delaware Watercolor Society will hold an artist reception from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 8, in the gallery at Nassau Valley Vineyards. Light refreshments will be served.

The registered nonprofit began in Rehoboth Beach in 2004 with a handful of painters. Today, it is one of the top watercolor societies in the region.

Juror and awards judge Jill Poyerd selected 40 paintings from the 69 entries and designated seven awards. Poyerd is a contemporary realist painter who is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and the Virginia Watercolor Society, among others.

A signature member is one who has achieved the highest level of artistic proficiency in a watercolor society. Poyerd has been featured in numerous art publications, and has authored books and produced videos on watercolor techniques.

The exhibition runs through Saturday, July 30. Located at 32165 Winery Way, Nassau Commons Blvd., Lewes, the winery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 12 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
