Local artists to be on display in McCall
The sixth annual Art in the Courtyard show is almost here. It will take place on Saturday, August 27, from 10 am to 6 pm, outdoors in the courtyard of Bistro 45 and the Hotel McCall. The show is free. There will be live music all through the day.
There will be an art raffle going on and proceeds will be donated to support local children's art programs and projects.
Artists representing many art mediums will be participating, including some from Adams County!
Celia Smith, a part-time Meadows Valley resident, uses acrylics to create her paintings of the sea, the earth, and the spiritual/affective aspects of humanity. Her work has been described as "abstract primitive". Her award-winning paintings have been commissioned, published, and accepted in museums and juried art shows.
Virgil Butler creates sculptures and furniture of wood. He placed first in sculpture at the regional art show in Riggins and received first place and best in show at the Hell's Canyon Art Guild show this year in Cambridge. At his store, All About Wood, in Council, Idaho, he offers classes in wood carving.
Self-taught glass artist Jesse DeMoss is part owner of a brand new gallery in the Alpine Village complex, McCall. His work is internationally known and includes jewelry, sculpture, stemware, lighting fixtures, belt buckles, and more.
