Thanks go to all the sponsors and participants of the 2015 Haunts of Harriman event at Harriman State Park of Idaho on October 24, 2015.

Through your generous donations, 2660 pounds (1.33 tons!) of food were collected at the event for the North Fremont and Island Park Food Pantries. With almost 2900 visitors, this was the largest Haunts event to date, and the entrance fee of the food item will help many people in the local community into this next year. Additional cash donations were collected by Friends of Harriman State Park to assist with putting on next year's event.

Boxed food donations overfilled the floor of a 4-horse trailer used to collect and transport most of the food back to Ashton. The North Fremont blood Pantry in Ashton received 2400 pounds of food to add to their larder. The Island Park Food Pantry received 260 lbs to supplement their current supply; they will get more from Ashton as needed.

With the increase in clientele, this addition in food collection is helping to cover increased requests. However, food is always needed and accepted! If you were unable to attend this year and still want to donate to the food pantries, you can leave food at Dave's Jubilee or at the Ashton Library in the Ashton Community Center (where the food pantry is located on the other end) on towards the end of Main Street. If you need assistance, contact Frieda at 208-403-8916. For folks in the Island Park area, you can leave it at the Bank of Idaho where the Island Park food pantry is located. You can contact them at 208-558-0166.
