School begins Sept. 2 in the Northshore School District, and thanks to an impressive community-wide effort, Northshore students will arrive ready to learn.

Through the generosity of our community, almost 1,200 students will start the school year with basic and necessary supplies. Northshore School District and the Northshore Schools Foundation express heartfelt appreciation to all who played a role in responding to every need during this year's Backpacks for Kids campaign.

Countless students, families, community groups, businesses and civic organizations and Northshore School District staff backed this valuable program in a myriad of ways, each individually and collectively generating an impressive effort of support! We give thanks to:

Our major supporters and donors for their continuous assistance — Lois Anderson, AT&T, Bothell CrossFit, Bothell Fire Department, Bothell First Lutheran Church, Bothell Kenmore Reporter, Bothell United Methodist Church, City of Bothell, City of Kenmore, City of Woodinville, Day and Night Plumbing and Heating, Disney International, Girl Scout Summer Campers at Blythe Park, Girl Scout Troop 44314, Greater Bothell Chamber of Commerce RealLiving Northwest Realtors, Starbucks, Timbercrest Honor Society, Wellington Helping Hands, Woodinville Chamber of Commerce, Woodinville Moms Club and Woodinville Weekly. Your backing provided the foundation for our program.

The many community merchants, civic organizations, church groups, private donors and Northshore staff whose donations of money and supplies provided the substance of our program. Each year your overwhelming support allows us to fulfill the promise that all kids will begin the school year prepared and eager for learning.

Our Bothell, Kenmore and Woodinville community supporters who served as donation drop-off sites.

Those individuals, families and groups who helped gather and sort supplies and assemble backpacks. And we give thanks to the many Northshore School District teams who assisted with the running of our program: Secondary Academy for Success, Transportation, Warehouse and Communications. Each part you played was integral in creating a smoothly run program.

Again, thank you for your generous spirit and support. The tremendous success of the Backpacks for Kids campaign was due to your commitment to the youth of Northshore School District!
