Rehoboth Beach police arrested a New York man July 9 for resisting arrest after he got into a verbal argument with an unnamed woman at Funland. Police say at 10:45 p.m., Hank Destefano, 35, of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., was in a profanity-laced tirade with a woman in full view of families and children. When encountered by officers, police say Destefano acted aggressively toward an officer and threatened to assault the officer. Destefano was talked into being placed into handcuffs by police, but as he was being cuffed, he began struggling with the officer. When placed into the patrol car, police say Destefano tried to kick out the rear window. Destefano was taken to police headquarters where he urinated on the floor and repeatedly stomped in it. No injuries were sustained; Destefano was charged with resisting arrest, failure to comply with taking photos and fingerprints, and two counts of disorderly conduct. He was jailed at Sussex Correctional Institution on $4,000 cash bail.
