After almost a week and a half on the run, Robert Williston who escaped from the Adams County Jail on May 24 was captured early Tuesday morning in Lewiston.

According to a press release, Robert Williston was taken into custody after Nez Perce County Sheriff's deputies and officers from the Lewiston Police Department made contact with two male subjects and a female in the parking lot of Liberty Mart North in the 200 block of West 22nd Street North at about 12:41 AM.

"During this contact it was found that one of the male subjects, later identified as Robert Michael Williston, 47 year old male, had a confirmed Escape Warrant out of the Idaho Department Of Corrections (IDOC). Williston was taken into custody without incident," Cpl. Sam AuGello says in the press release.

Last week loggers in the Mill Creek area northeast of Council reported seeing someone they thought might be Williston, and a flurry of law enforcement activity followed but Williston was not found at that time.

Williston is being held without bond in the Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center.
