A Friday night traffic stop for a burned out tail light resulted in the arrest of William Earl Skipper, 25, of Young stown on drug charges.

Calhoun County Sheriff's Lt. Todd Wheetley pulled over a 1991 Toyota truck just before 9 p.m. After noticing that the driver seemed to become increasingly nervous, Wheetley asked to search the truck and the driver consented.

After spotting a glass pipe sticking out of the driver's pants pocket, Wheetley handcuffed him and then began the search.

The arrest report noted residue found on the pipe and in a plastic bag also found in his pocket tested positive for methamphetamine residue. A cigarette box that held two hydrocodone pills was found at Skipper's feet. Skipper was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of drug equipment.
