A Blountstown woman was arrested for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend.

A Calhoun County deputy responded to a call from a Blountstown residence around 10 p.m. on Oct. 19, where he arrived to find the male victim sitting in the kitchen wearing a blood-covered t-shirt.

Photos were taken to document quarterinch deep puncture wounds to his upper left chest, stomach and knuckles of his right hand.

The man identified his attacker as the mother of his child and his off-and-on girlfriend, Stacy Ann Rudd, 28.

He pointed out a small folding blade knife on the floor nearby and said it was weapon she used.

The victim said that after he and Rudd argued about her drug use, she began throwing things at him. She then grabbed a knife from the kitchen counter and started stabbing him.

He said he struck her in the head in self-defense.

She then fled the home, taking their three-year-old child with her. The youngster was in a bedroom during the fight.

The victim's mother said she heard the couple arguing loudly and went inside the mobile home, where she witnessed the attack.

After a deputy reached her by phone, Rudd agree to come in for questioning.

She denied the stabbing but said there had been an argument and accused her boyfriend of trying to choke her with his hands and belt. The deputy's report noted the only visible injuries she had was a bruise on her forehead. There was also some blood on the front of her shirt.

Rudd told the deputy that after she left the home, her boyfriend stabbed himself.

She also stated that the child was in the room during the altercation.

The youngster was turned over to a family member and Rudd was taken into custody.
