ISP seize drugs, firearms during 1-86 busts

Idaho State Police troopers arrested two men from North Dakota on Sunday, Jan. 12, for numerous drug related charges.

Troopers stopped a vehicle driven by Daniel Sewell, 35 of New Rockford, ND, for a traffic violation around 11:10 a.m. near milepost 30 on 1-86. During a search of the vehicle troopers discovered and seized 14.6 pounds of marijuana, an undisclosed amount of other narcotics, drug paraphernalia and two handguns.

Sewell and his passenger Timothy Scott, 30, of Fargo, ND, were taken to the Power County Jail and charged with trafficking a controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana, felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Troopers also arrested two men on Saturday, Jan. 11, for drug offenses. ISP troopers stopped a vehicle driven by Matthew L. Hoven, 56, of Seneca, SD, west of American Falls on 1-86 for a traffic violation. During the search of Hoven's vehicle troopers discovered two ounces of methamphetamine and six ounces of marijuana. Hoven, along with passenger Clifford E. Gerber, 66, of Hoven, SD, were taken to the Power County Jail and charged with felony trafficking of a controlled substance and felony possession of marijuana.
