A 58-year-old Millsboro man died July 6 following a car crash near Long Neck. Sara G. Lingo, 18, of Millsboro was driving a 2009 Ford Escape at 8:50 p.m. eastbound on Harmons Hill Road approaching an intersection with Indian Mission Road when she failed to remain stopped at a stop sign, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police. Lingo entered the intersection into the path of a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country driven by a Millsboro man, 58, Fournier said. The vehicles collided in the southbound lane of Indian Mission Road; the Escape rotated counterclockwise before stopping in the southeast corner of the intersection. The Town and Country also rotated counterclockwise and stopped in the middle of the intersection

Fournier said. The 58-year-old male was not properly restrained and pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin. Lingo was properly restrained; she was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to Beebe Healthcare where she is currently admitted with undetermined injuries. Police continue to investigate.
