Cheney youths injured in two-car collision on SR-195

Three people, including two Cheney youth, were injured in a two-car collision taking place oh State Route 195 about five miles southwest of Spokane last Wednesday.

According to the Washington State Patrol collision memo, at approximately 6:45 p.m. a southbound 1994 four-door BMW driven by a 17-year-old Cheney male attempted to make a left-hand turn towards Meadow Lane. The BMW Was struck by a northbound 2007Volvo XC90 driven by Michelle M. Meenach, 31, of Spokane.

Meenach, the 17-year-old and a 15-year-old male passenger in the BMW were all injured and transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center. All three were wearing safety restraints.

The State Patrol listed failure to yield as the cause of the collision, and that the 17-year-old driver of the BMW had been cited for second-degree negligent driving.
