A single-car crash sent two Belfair residents to hospitals Sunday night after their car crossed the centerline and flipped.

Driver Sebastian Zacharius Lopez, 17, was airlifted to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton. Passenger Domingo Zacharius Lopez, 11, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Domingo's condition was described as "satisfactory" on Tuesday, meaning he was stable and not in intensive care.

Harrison had not returned calls from the Journal regarding Sebastian's status by dead-.line on Wednesday.

The car was traveling south on state Route 3 when it drifted through the turn lane, crossed the northbound lane and left the roadway, according to a news release from the Washington State Patrol.

The car, a four-door Saturn VUE, then flipped and came to rest upside down in the parking lot at Randy's Short Stop.

The accident occurred around 5:47 p.m.

Sebastian was wearing a seat belt; Domingo was not.

The release stated officers planned to charge Sebastian with second-degree negligent driving, driving without a valid license and allowing a child under the age of 16 to ride without a seat belt.

Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be a factor.
