Funds available for women continuing education
The Shelton Chapter B of the Philanthropic Education Organization is offering two $1,000 grants to Mason County women to continue their education.
To qualify, the student must have graduated from high school or earned a GED; be a Mason County resident; and be enrolled during the 2016-17 academic year at an accredited academic or technical college.
The funds can be used for tuition, books and other expenses. The award will be sent directly to the recipients' schools.
Applications are available at Mason County WorkSource, Olympic College, Sound Learning, the Shelton branch of the Timberland Library and by calling Betty Linker at 426-8189. Aug. 5 is the deadline to apply. The applications can be sent to P.E.O. Education Committee, 2534 LaCrosse Court, Shelton 98584.
