On Tuesday, March 17, Aberdeen Elementary School hosted Tar Wars, a tobacco-free education program for fifth-grade students. Instruction was given by Linda Cassell, FNP of Power County Hospital District and consisted of a pre-activity exercise, a 45 minute classroom presentation, and a follow-up poster contest.

All student posters were judged by Mrs. Troumbley's Middle School seventh hour art class. Yasmin Ortiz took first place, Karen Escamilla, Diamante Padilla and Savanah Rowlan took second place.

The first place poster, drawn by Yasmin Ortiz, will be entered into the Idaho State Poster Contest and will be recognized with a certificate and a Tar Wars t-shirt from the Idaho Academy of Family Physicians.
