Master Naturalist Program:" classes, hands-on experience

Bernalillo County Open Space is now accepting applications for its Master Naturalist Program.

The program aims to instill the pursuit of lifelong learning and promote environmental stewardship. Participants work education and service projects dedicated in management of natural resources on its open space properties.

The program is ideal for individuals who have a love of the outdoors, curiosity of the natural environment, a desire to work with others and help support conservation measures that improve land health. Applications are due by March 31.

Selected volunteers will take free classes and participate in hands-on field experiences totaling 55 hours in June and July. Upon completion of be classes, participants will carry out a 40-hour service project on open space properties in the following year.
