WIGGINS — The Stone County Economic Development Partnership annual awards dinner and meeting will be held Tuesday at Heidelberg Hall on the Perkinston Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

The event starts at 6 p.m. and Stone County native Malcolm White will be the featured speaker.

White is the Executive Director of VisitMississippi, the Tourism Division of the Mississippi Development Authority.

"He helps foster the creation of economic growth and opportunities for Mississippi through tourism, creative economy and a greater visitor experience," said SCEDP Executive Director Betsy Rowell.

Various awards will be presented to individuals and businesses who have been deemed to have made an impact over the course of the past year.

"This is an opportunity to recognize the many volunteers who have been active in community activities in three divisions, economic development, tourism, and Chamber of Commerce," Rowell said.

Ike Harbuck, outgoing chairman of the SCEDP Board of Directors, will preside over his last function in that role.

"It has been an honor to serve this community as chairman of the EDP Board of Directors for the previous two years," he said. "I am pleased to pass along leadership into the very capable hands of Sherrill Mayton who takes over those duties for the coming year."

The event is open to the public and tickets are $20 per person.

For reservations contact the SCEDP at 601-928-5418 or email for additional information.
