Mayor Morgan Anderson called the budget hearing open for comments. City councilmen attending the meeting were Mary Leisy, Karalee Bonzon, Brian Schneider, Larry Barrett and Craig Wampler. Also attending were Robert Goss, public works director, Attorney Garrett Sandow and Linda Balls, city clerk.

No one from the community attended the meeting. Mayor Anderson asked attorney Garrett Sandow to read Ordinance 305 pertaining to the city budget. Sandow read the ordinance in its entirety. The mayor asked for a vote. The city council voted to approve the ordinance for the budget.

Other business at the meeting included the request for a variance for a fence at 204 S. Main. This is the new residence of Main Attraction. Alesia Vollmer requested a variance to fence the west half of the property to provide a safer area for children to play. A motion was made and passed to allow the variance.

Larry Barrett told the council that Conan Feld was getting ready to demolish the old Ern's building and asked the city to restrict or close the street during demolition. Barrett also said the collection system project will go out to bid in about three weeks.

The meeting was adjourned until Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m.
