The Brownsville Volunteer Firefighter Association will be awarding two $1000 scholarships to selected applicants. High school graduates living within the Brownsville Rural Fire District and who plan to enter either a firefighting or medical course of study at an accredited institution are encouraged to apply. Applications are available through the student's school, at the Brownsville Fire Station, or from the Association treasurer via email: brfdtreasurer(3)gmail.com.

The Henry Howe Memorial Scholarship has been given out since 1993 as a memorial to Henry Howe, a volunteer firefighter who was killed in the line of duty while serving with the department.

Applications must be returned by May 18th, 2015 to meet the deadline. Applicants will be notified via letter if they have been selected for the interview process. Those selected will appear before an interview committee. The winner will be announced during the awards ceremony at the graduate's school.
