First State Manufacturing announced that Alex Burgos has been promoted to assistant manager of production, overseeing the cutting area, commercial and government projects as well as sharing oversight of product engineering.

"Alex has been with First State for over 14 years," said President and CEO Eli Valenzuela. "I met him at church when we were able to announce that we were seeking production technicians and sewers. He has worked his way through the production line moving from upholstery to sewing to product engineering and then supervising the cutting area, truly growing with us.

"Alex enjoys the creative side of the business, and I would consider him a master craftsman. I am proud to have him follow in my footsteps. He was my discovery and he is also proof that trust and hard work have a reward," said Valenzuela.

Growing from humble beginnings in 1997, First State Manufacturing is an award-winning company and one of the most successful manufacturers of its size in the nation. Providing quality upholstery and cut-and-sew services to the U.S. military, municipalities and a broad array of commercial customers, First State Manufacturing has earned its reputation for providing solutions that solve the challenges its customers face, while continuing to grow manufacturing jobs in Sussex county.
