Barbara L. Comer, enjoyed CHEER Center
Barbara L. Comer, 85, of Millsboro, formerly of Marshallton Heights, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016, at her daughter's home.
She was born in Newark, Nov. 14, 1930, daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Buckingham) Pyle.
Barbara was a member of the Mill Creek Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, the Order of the Eastern Star Armstrong Lodge 26 in Newport, and enjoyed attending the Long Neck CHEER Center.
She was well known for her green thumb, and enjoyed playing bingo, making ceramics, taking photographs, and the children from her daughter's daycare.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William H. Comer in 2013; and three brothers, Edward, Wayne and Larry Pyle.
Barbara is survived by two children, Beverly L. Moore and her husband Michael B. of Millsboro, and William H. Comer Jr. and his wife Ginny of Harrington; two grandchildren, Abbigail D. Ludwig and her husband Greg of Baltimore, Md., and Joshua L. Comer of Millsboro. Barbara is also survived by four brothers, Richard Pyle and his wife Judy of Newark, Ronnie Pyle of Elkton, Md., Kenny Pyle and his wife Debbie of Newark, and Bruce Pyle and his wife Jennifer of Elkton; and a sister, Lois Yoder of Newark.
A visitation was held Wednesday, July 13, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro.
A visitation will also be held Friday, July 15, from 10 to 11 a.m, at the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Hwy., New Castle, where the funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be held in the adjoining cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Barbara's name to the Long Neck CHEER Center, 26089 The Shoppes of Long Neck Unit #7, Millsboro, DE 19966 or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
