Eric Edwin Straile, 48, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016, at his home in Georgetown. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to Derwood, Md., where he attended most of his grade school years and graduated from Magruder High School in 1986.

He was a carpenter by trade, enjoyed crafting his own surfboards and taking to the ocean. He will be remembered for his vibrant personality, how he amassed friends and how he was loved by all.

He is survived by his devoted father, Bill Straile; his beloved siblings and their spouses, sisters Judy Capobianco and Linda Ward; and brother David Straile; eight nieces and nephews; and countless friends. He is now joined with his mother, Carolyn Straile, who just passed away this April.

A Life Celebration event will be held in Derwood later this summer.
