Mrs. Woodward

GRAY: Geraldine Waters Woodward, 85, of North Valley Drive, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at alocal hospital. The family greeted friends Sunday, Sept. 20, from 2:00 — 4:00 p.m., at Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, Sept. 21, at Bridges Funeral Home. Interment followed at Cedar Ridge Cemetery. The Rev. Randy Darnell officiated.

Mrs. Woodward wasbornFeb.26, 1930, in Toomsboro, and had lived in Gray for the past 35 years. She was the daughter of the late Clifton Waters and Annie Preston Waters. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Dry Branch and was ahomemaker. Mrs. Woodward was a devoted family matriarch with a passion for cooking and gardening. She was a life member and past matron of Liberty Lodge Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Benjamin Woodward Sr.; grandson, Jack Woodward; and by eight brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Woodward is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Vicky Elder and Robin and Jim Burdick; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Jackie Woodward; sister, Carolyn Tyson; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
