Nancy Ann Dickerson, age 77, of Weiser, died of natural causes at home on Friday, Nov. 28, 2014.

She was born in Boise, Idaho to Chet and Junia Thorson on April 6, 1937. She graduated from Weiser High School and participated in numerous 4-H activities. She took great pride in being selected to attend the national 4-H competition in Chicago for her sewing with wool project.

Nancy worked at the Washington County Title Company in Weiser until retiring in 2002. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and often volunteered to help with kindergarteners at Pioneer Elementary School.

In 2003 she received a cochlear implant after facing the adversity of the loss of her hearing for most of her adult life. She worked very hard to train herself in the use of the cochlear so that she could once again hear her children and the voices of her grandchildren for the very first time. She became an advocate and mentor to others with hearing loss to encourage and enable them to experience the same miracle.

She was a devoted mother and taught her sons to value hard work and family through her own example. One of her greatest pleasures was to cook a large meal for family and friends. Everyone was welcome at her table and if someone was in need or unable to attend, she would take a meal to them. She never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sister Kama Thorson, Lewiston, her brother Fred

Thorson, Nampa, her son David Kiser and his wife Anita who reside in Parma, and their sons Travis and Trevor Kiser, her son Mark Kiser and his wife Lori who reside in Omaha, Neb., and their sons Adam, Caleb, and Daniel Kiser, her son Scott Kiser and his wife Bonnie who reside in Poison, Mont., and their daughter Crystal Mjelde.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Chet Thorson and Junia Jones, her step-father Eddie Jones, her brother Free-land Thorson, and her son Ross Kiser.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weiser, Idaho under the direction of Tho-mason Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made in Nancy's memory to the Lions Sight and Hearing at 1090 N. Cole Road, Boise, Idaho 83704.
