Tyler Kiwanis Club learns about the REA solar panel system
The Tyler Kiwanis Club met Wednesday. Oct. 28 at noon at the Timber Tavern and enjoyed a meal of scalloped potatoes and ham.
After the meal Pastor Wayde Kenneke opened the meeting with the Pledge to the American Flag, the last verse of "America" and a prayer led by Chris Johnson.
We sang together "Beautiful Dreamer" and "All Through The Night." led by Betty Jo Solberg.
Happy Bucks were put in by Pastor Wayde, who says he learns new songs each week; Merle Hansen for his picture in the paeper; Jack Jonson for a great harvest this year; Mark Schwanebeck for the good weather we are having; Judy Williamson for the good hospital community meeting; and Marlys Moser. who spent time with her daughter Robin and grandson this past week.
The menu next week is beef stroganoff and peas and it will be the monthly business meeting next week.
Brian Jeremiason from Minneota and Kelly Dybdahl came to talk about their new solar panel building in back of the RF.A building. They use the electricity it produces for the REA building. Kelly is the electrical engineer at REA and Brian is the Manager of Energy Services. The panels produce more energy sometimes in March rather than summertime. It if overproduces it comes back to the system and they get revenue back. The building itself is 30 ft by 50 ft. The life extectancy for one panel alone is 25 years Such an informative and educational program.
The meeting adjourned at 1 p.m.
The Tyler Kiwanls Club has been meeting for over 60 years. They enjoy a noon meal and lively conversations. They serve the Tyler community in numerous ways. You are welcome to come and visit us.
