Extension offers basic gardening workshops

University of Idaho Bingham County Extension is sponsoring a four-part series of workshops on basic gardening.

The workshop topics and dates are: Tree Planting and Care, April 18; Vegetable Gardening, May 9; Fruit Production Challenges, June 13; and Soils, Watering and Fertilizers, July 11. All workshops will be held at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1110 Parkway Drive, Blackfoot (across from Arby's) from 6:30 to 9 p.m. A portion of some of the workshops may be outdoors.

Cost for attending all four workshops is $30, which includes a notebook, handouts and other materials. Cost for attending a single workshop is $10 and includes handouts only.

Anyone interested must preregister to attend all four workshops or for individual workshops. Registration deadline for attending all four workshops or the first workshop is Monday, April 1. Registration deadline for attending vegetable gardening is May 2; fruit production, June 6; and soils, July 5.
