Marie Helen Dorie, 95, of Rainier, passed away on July 22 at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center in Vancouver.

She was born Sept. 5, 1918 in Little Rock, Wash, to Claude Henry and Grace Mae (Revall) Boren.

Marie liked to knit, crochet, read, do jigsaw puzzles and make afghans for her grandchildren. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed picking ferns in the woods.

She lived most of her life in the local area, spending the last two years in the care of Kalama Adult Family Home.

Marie was part of a large family. Her only sibling still living is her brother William "Bill" Wiester of Chehalis, Wash.

Marie is also survived by her stepchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Lamme in 1967, Pat White in 1985 and Aldred "Buck" Dorie in 2011.

There will be a service of remembrance on Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, located at East 2nd and D streets in Rainier, with Rosary at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 11 a.m. Father Rev. Henry O. Rufo is officiating.

Groulx Family Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
