A man wanted in Louisville for attempted murder was captured just outside of Beaver Dam last Thursday.

According to Beaver Dam Police Chief Adam Wright, Randall K. Kiper, 44, was arrested by U.S. marshals without incident at 1692 Highway 62 West.

"It was me and three marshals who went to the residence and knocked on the door," Wright said. "He came to the door peacefully-." It was the Hartford Police Department that received the tip that led to the arrest, Wright said.

Kiper was being sought by the Louisville police for allegedly taking part in a drive-by shooting on Lytle Street Friday, Nov. 14.

Kiper is accused of driving up next to a parked car with two people and an infant inside and then opening fire.

One person was shot several times in the neck and another person was paralyzed by a bullet that struck the abdomen. The infant suffered minor bruises and abrasions.

Kiper told police the residence he was found in was his.

Louisville police have charged Kiper with one count of attempted murder, one count of first-degree assault, one count of fourth-degree assault and two counts of wanton endangerment.

"Beaver Dam, Hartford and the Ohio County Sheriffs Department all worked on this and were able to get the information out," Wright said. "People came forward and said this is where he's at. Basically, it was just a good working relationship with the agencies in the county that led to the arrest."
