Funeral service for Vernon Ploeger, age 95 of Edgerton, formerly of Lake Benton, will be Thursday, Nov. 5, 11 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Benton. Visitation is IY2 hours prior to the funeral from 9:30-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Elkton, South Dakota. Vernon Albert Ploeger was born July 10, 1920 to William and Elsie (Hintz) Ploeger in Aurora, South Dakota. On

Dec. 9, 1943 he was united in marriage to Lorine Pape at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elkton, South Dakota. On March 9, 1945, Vernon was drafted into the United States Army. Vernon died Oct. 31 at Edgebrook Care Center, Edgerton.

Vernon is survived by sons Gary (Connie) Ploeger of Pipestone, Randy (Arlis) Ploeger of Wahpeton, North Dakota, Danny (Nancy) Ploeger of Mesa, Arizona, and Todd Ploeger of Glendale, Arizona; brother Donald Ploeger of Las Vegas, Nevada; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Lorine; parents William and Elsie; sister Fay Ploeger and sister-in-law Darlene Ploeger.
