For too many people, Christmas is not full of cheer.

The bright lights and festive gaiety is met with sighs and sadness at being unable to enjoy the season.

THE DESPAIR can be caused by illness and medical bills, a change in jobs or lost job, or just too many bills to pay.

For those people, the Hogansville Empty Stocking Fund looks to help provide a brighter Christmas.

Applications for assistance are already being accepted and can be turned in at the Hogansville Recreation Department 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9.

Those requesting help will need to bring identification and proof of income.

The pickup date is 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 21.

For more information contact Elaine Carr at 706-637-8566.
