Callaway Vies far Region Crown

Battles Central Friday Night

The stage is set again for the Callaway High Cavaliers and the Central of Carroll Lions to determine which team will be the 2015 Region Champs.

One year ago, this was the same scenario and as thought, turned out to be a thrilling game with Central defeating the Cavaliers in 40-34 nail bitter.

This Friday, the Cavaliers will take to the road to square off with the Lions in the winner take all matchup at 7:30 p.m.

Central is boasting a perfect 9-0 record, while the Cavaliers have one loss, the season opener and has rolled to eight straight victories.

This should prove to be another thriller as the two teams with explosive offenses and stubborn defenses battle it out.

THE TEAMS are very similar. Both have tradition, both have exceptional athletes and both are well coached.

Friday night, every facet of the game will come into play. From offense and defense to special teams play, this will no doubt be a game that will keep fans on the edge of their seats.

The Lions' offense is averaging putting 28.8 points per game on the scoreboard, while its defense is only allowing an average of nine points per game.

The Cavalier offense has averaged scoring 33.3 points per game and has only allowed an average of 16.8 points per game.

Callaway entered Region 5-AAA in 2012 and won the region title in its first season.
