Oliver H. Freidrichs, age 89 of Gibbon, died peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the South View Living Center in Gibbon.

A PRIVATE family service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon. Pastor Michael Killinger will officiate, and burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Gibbon.

Arrangements are being made with the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home of Gibbon.

Oliver is survived by his wife, Lyla Freidrichs of Gibbon; daughters, Suzanne (Steve) Distel of Jordan, Cheryl (Duane) Rathmann of Waseca, Barb (Dave) Panning of Gibbon; son, Steve (Bev) Freidrichs of Buffalo Lake; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carole Freidrichs of Fairfax; and brother-in-law, Cliff Zieske of Gibbon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Loren Freidrichs, Wally Freidrichs; sisters-in-law, Myr-tice Freidrichs, Delores Oswald; and brother-in-law, A.J. Oswald.

Oliver Herbert-Henry Freidrichs was born March 15, 1926 in Gibbon to Walter and Freda (Roepke) Freidrichs. He was united in marriage to Lyla Zieske on August 1, 1950 in Gibbon. The couple was blessed with four children whom together they raised in the Gibbon area. Oliver farmed in Moltke Township and also drove truck for many years before retiring in 2001. Oliver was a hard-working man, who did anything to provide for his family, and memories of him will stay in the hearts of all of those who knew him. He was a devout member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon.
